The movement of people from one nation to another is called immigration. Immigration is an right that is also guaranteed by our constitution. Immigration is not a new thing as it has been taking since historical times but in today's time, it signifies to a long-term stay in a non-native nation. People do not hesitate in crossing their nation's boundaries in search of overseas jobs. Many people migrate to a foreign land with an objective to get admission in a good foreign university. People also prefer immigrating to another place in search of a new living and get an exposure to life beyond their country's boundaries. Immigration laws that help in easy migration of people between the two nations are of help in such cases. Immigration is not always advantageous, it has its cons also.

Benefits of immigration

Cultural values exchange: Immigration facilitates exchanging of cultural values. It allows an easy exchange of information and expertises between two countries. Helps in economic growth: Immigration helps in widening a global perspective to the social and economic growth and thus, provides more chances for development. Immigration encourages global prosperity.

Drawbacks of immigration

Imbalance in population- Immigration leads to an increase in population. When people migrate from one country to another then it leads to crowding in another nation. It puts pressure on resources of one nation that may also imbalance natural resources.

Health problems- Immigrants bring diseases with them that are prevailing in their nation and thus it results into spreading of diseases. To restrict the transfer of diseases, many nations have made health checkup of immigrants mandatory.

Unfair distribution of country's wealth- Due to immigration, wealth of one county, on which its national has first right, gets divided among immigrants also.


Thus, you can see that immigration can create viable opportunity for a healthy exchange of cultural values, it can also result in imbalance in natural wealth.
